A PERFECT INTRODUCTION TO THE RIVERQUEST EXPERIENCE
Our popular on-board School Field Studies have been specially adapted into 2-hour formats this fall, on the vessels Discovery and Scout. If you've held off on experiencing RiverQuest, now's the perfect time to sample the science, fun and adventure that happen every day on the RiverQuest fleet You can also bring RiverQuest "RiverTales" programs for grades 1-6 to your school! 2-HOUR SHORT STUDIES
onboard Discovery
This special lineup of offerings can allow you to bring two student groups, one for an early trip, one for a later trip. Fee per Field Study (20-30 students): $500 • $475 • $450 (Based on School State Aid Ratio)
These 2-hour Studies are available at 9:00 am -11:00 am, 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm, and after the school day ends for special groups like science clubs and Scouts.
Green Science & Alternative Energy Sources (grades 6-12)
Sponsored by Bayer Foundation
Use solar powered car kits and molecular models to shed light on the future of alternative energy. Learn about biofuels, check out a water sample for signs of life, and find connections between green science and water quality issues. Fee per Field Study (20-30 students): $500 • $475 • $450 (Based on School State Aid Ratio)
Traveling The Nautical Road (grades 1-4)
Enter the world of a riverboat captain during this 2-hour excursion. Interpret navigation charts, measure bridge heights, and try your hand at bridge engineering. Fee per Field Study (20-30 students): $500 • $475 • $450 (Based on School State Aid Ratio)
Environmental Science on the River (grades 4-12)
Learn about the dynamics of watersheds, spot migrating bird species, and analyze plankton and macroinvertebrate samples as indicators of water quality.Fee per Field Study (20-30 students): $500 • $475 • $450 (Based on School State Aid Ratio)
SURF & TURF Environmental Science on the River (grades 4-12)
Environmental science studies conducted ON SHORE and ON BOARD
By reserving a whole SURF & TURF Environmental Science day (total 4.5 hours including ½ hour student lunch break) you can schedule up to 3 blocks of 30 students for a combination onboard and shoreline program that includes our full Environmental Science Field Study! Fee per block of 30 students and 3 chaperones are: $875 • $825 • $775 (Based on School State Aid Ratio).

RiverTales are on the Road, November through March!
RiverTales are 45-minute classroom activities that come to your school! RiverTales are PA Academic Standards-based, and adaptable for grades K-6.
RiverTales Capacity: One classroom per session (20-35 students)
Fees: Two sessions of any one “RiverTales” title: $200
Each RiverTales presentation after minimum: $75
Fees are per title, per school building, per school day.
Additional RiverTales travel cost: 0-25 miles- Free; 26-50 miles - $25.

Learn about the fish that inhabit Pennsylvania streams and rivers, and how their shapes and physical characteristics suit them for specific environments.

Experiment with bridge construction, witness the power of the arch, and learn about the colorful bridge history of Western PA.

Explore the water cycle in activities that shed light on rain, erosion, water pollution, water filtration, and more.
